Gota states, Kumaran Pathmanathan is custody the control of Criminal Investigation Unit.

According to information it is informed that Kumaran Pathmanathan who was arrested by the government, is not under the control of military but he is in the custody of Criminal Investigation unit. While Gottabaya gave an interview to a local English media, he made this statement.

He rejected the accusations made that government is having close links with Kumaran Pathmanathan. This statement was given by Gottabaya in reply to a statement given by retired Major General Sarath Fonseka accused that the government sector is processing attempts to appoint Kumaran Pathmanathan as the Chief Minister for Northern Province. Government did not process any such activities and he said, the Mahinda Rajapakse government will not advance any activities which will affect the Sri Lankan people was mentioned by Gotabaya. But he said, to curtail the activities of Rudrakumar and Nediyan who are functioning international wide, Pathmanathan’s coordination will be obtained was mentioned by Defense Secretary. 

Gotabaya said, some opinions were submitted by Pathamanthan to provide settlements to the Tamils and Pathmanathan had told him that the migrant Tamils had spend their funds unnecessarily for the past 30 years, which was no use was mentioned by Gotabaya.
