People did not demand for constitution amendments - Tissa Attanayake

Untied National Party’s General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said, people did not request for constitutional amendments and amendments are done for the political gains of the government.

 

He said people are appealing to implement the present constitution which is in practice in the proper manner. The government has failed to implement the 17th amendment was mentioned by him. 

 

The United National Party will provide its fullest corporation to implement the said amended legislation which was pointed out by him. If a same person is elected as President for more than two terms, there is a danger of dictatorship rule prevailing in the country, hence the United National party will show its oppose to the new political amended laws was mentioned by Tisa Attanayaka.
