The World Amnesty Council failed to accept the actual situation of Sri Lanka – Government
Government had informed the World Amnesty Council had failed to accept the actual situation in Sri Lanka. “Diwayina” newspaper has published a news item that an international conference was held in regard to the present situation in Sri Lanka, at Berlin City Germany, but the information published was denied of acceptance by the World Amnesty Council.
Only the false opinions given by a Priest named Emmanuel from the World Tamil Assembly who attended the conference was accepted by the Global Amnesty Council was pointed out. The said priest gave information that at the final war stages, violence against women occurred and civilians were brutally killed. Swiss Tamil movement’s representative appealed arrangements should be made to have direct contacts with the displaced people living in the welfare camps, as they possess mobile phones, to find the actual situation, but the request was refused, was published in the “Diwayina” newspaper.
