Gota admits having bungled diplomatic ties with Eritrea

The Govt.’s efforts to establish a consulate in Eritrea with a view to monitoring the LTTE businesses and the connections had foundered on the rocks.

The Defense Secretary , Gotabaya Rajapakse  is deeply in his toils to learn as to where things went wrong against him and his Govt.  As always , he is blaming the newspapers for publishing reports pertaining to their efforts. He alleges that Eritrea has taken offence at these reports  , and ‘they are even not talking to us while cutting us off completely,’  he pointed out.

Looking for scapegoats to blame one ‘s own faults is a common practice . This mania afflicts particularly politicians in Sri Lanka .
