95 Deaths From Dengue. Maximum Number Is From Jaffna.

According to the Epidemic Section of the Health Ministry the number of deaths from dengue has increased to 95 in the year 2010 up to now.

 

It’s figures indicate that there had been 15,516 patients suffered from dengue and the most number of patients were from Jaffna District which amounts to 2,071. 

1,955 patients were reported from Colombo District while there were 1,884 patients from the Gampaha District. Further there were 1,026 dengue patients from Batticaloa District.

In addition the Epidemic Section reports there was an increase in Ratnapura, Kandy and Kurunegala Districts too

Well the diseases like dengue can only be avoided by creating a general awareness amongst the people to try to keep the mosquitoes away. Specially the country side people need to be made aware as they are comparatively less educated and unaware.
