New Duty For Police – Remove ‘Lanka’ Posters

The police personnel have been deployed to remove posters put up to advertise the mid week ‘Lanka’ newspaper says its editor Chandana Sirimalwatta. He said the posters which announce the statement made by Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse that Gen. Sarath Fonseka would be executed is being removed from Moratuwa and Punchi Borella areas. Mr. Sirimalwatta says using police personnel to remove posters is a good example of the democracy and media freedom that exist in the island.
