Dhanuna hiding in Lanka

The son-in-law of General Sarath Fonseka, Dhanuna Tilakaratne is still hiding in Sri Lanka and has not fled the country as was speculated at times, police spokesman Priyashantha Jayakody said.

The police spokesman said that the passport of Tilakaratne, who is wanted by the police and has an arrest warrant against him over some financial dealings involving General Fonseka, remains blacklisted and as such there is no way he could escape overseas.

Meanwhile military intelligence sources said that Dhanuna has been seen by eyewitnesses in Anuradhapura, Embilipitiya and Colombo and even at some night clubs in the city. 

The Criminal Investigations Department had recently sought the assistance of the International Police (INTERPOL) to gather information on foreign bank accounts of Tilakaratne.
