Constituent parties of the governing UPFA, the JHU and the NFF, have decided to declare war against the government if it plans to implement clause sin the Indo-Lanka Accord signed between India and Sri Lanka in1987 where police and land powers would be vested with the Provincial Councils.

A leader of the NFF told us that the Indian government had officially requested the Sri Lankan government to fully implement the Indo-Lanka Accord, which has not been enforced completely as yet. He said the Indian government had also requested the government to provide a permanent solution to the people in the North and East simultaneous to the full implementation of the Indo-Lanka Accord.

The NFF Leader said the party was planning on holding discussions with the JHU in the next few days on the possible action that could be taken against the government if it planned to give in to Indian pressure.
